Happy 32nd Birthday Ryan!

Ryan enjoying his 32nd birthday with the family at Texas Roadhouse.  Steak and Ribs what more could you ask for.  This is Ryan's 3rd birthday out of state.  We are getting used to birthdays with just the four of use.  The girls are really good at keeping us on our toes even when its our birthdays.  The house gets decorated a cake is made even if its just us four.  Ryan had a great birthday with the girls he loves most.

Ryan and the girls.  The girls thought it would be fun to show how hold daddy was with their fingers.  He's getting up there.  I can't really talk though, because so am I.

Present time.  Ryan like usual picked out and purchased most of his birthday.  He order himself a new golf bag and club.  The girls and I added in a few little things.
Livin' the Dream!  We are not quite sure where we will be next, but at least we are together.  This shirt makes us laugh because, Ryan's truck is falling apart and we are always joking that we should just buy a trailer and drag it along with us from state to state.
McKenzie wanted to custom design Ryan's cake this year to match his balloons.  She did a pretty good job telling the bakery what colors to use.
Ryan and the girls were laughing, so I'm not sure if he blew out the candles or spit out the candles.

Brooklyn's Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

For Brooklyn's fall field trip they went to the Country Apple Orchard.  Brooklyn was so excited to be able to ride on the school bus for the first time.  It was fun watching her giggle with her new friends as they loaded the bus.  Ryan was able to leave work for the afternoon and join us, so we road over separate in the truck.  Once they arrived at the at the orchard they headed off on a hay ride ( so they called it) to the pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins.  The kids were so fun to watch as they wondered around the pumpkin patch trying to pick the perfect pumpkin.  Brooklyn was pretty excited when she found hers.  After the hay ride they headed back to the orchard where they learned about how pumpkins are planted and how to take care of pumpkins.  The kids got to smell a pumpkin and talk about what a pumpkin is used for.  They then enjoyed some yummy apple juice.  Next they got to play on the hay stacks and meet the farm animals.  Brooklyn love the donkeys and loved petting their soft ears. It was nice for Ryan and I to go along and see how Brooklyn was with her new class and teacher.  After we got back to the school Brooklyn's Teacher told me that on the bus Brooklyn came up to her and said thank you for taking her to the pumpkin patch.  I'm so proud that she remembered to say thank you.   Besides the cold wind we had a great time on the field trip with Brooklyn and her class.

All the excited kids unload off the bus.

Getting Ready for Halloween

Our girls love to do crafts, so for family night we decided to make haunted houses with the girls.  Brooklyn made a haunted house and McKenzie's was a haunted tree house.   The girls were very creative with the design of their houses.  For school this year they asked the kids to decorate pumpkins for the annual pumpkin gallery in the library.  The girls were pretty excited to paint their pumpkins.  I usually like to give my opinion on how to decorate them, but this year I just stood back and let them paint them how ever they wanted.  Brooklyn wanted hers to be cute and girly and McKenzie wanted hers to have two sides one scary and one not scary.  The both turned out really cute.  Ryan like every year was preparing for all the pumpkins he would carve.  He has started quit the collection.  I can't wait for the year we are actually in Utah and can see all of them together.  This year he only had time to carve three, they all turned out pretty cool.

Yes Ryan is working on printing off all of his zombie pumpkin patterns for the year.  We now have over 265 patterns.  This year we decided that if we wanted to be able to keep them organized in the categories we would need to color code them.  Yes it was alot of work on my part, but it's done and everything is organized.

Motorcycle Girls!

Ryan thought it would be fun to show the girls how to make their bikes sound like motorcycles, so he taped a card to the back tire of their bikes.  The girls thought it was so cool.  Ryan thought it was pretty cool too,  he was like a little kid again.  It's so fun to see our kids grow and share fun things with them that we did when we were kids.

Starting a New School

The girls are ready for their first day of school in Sioux Falls.  In Utah they only have kindergarten for half the day, and in Sioux Falls it's all day.  It's going to be a hard day for me today, because both girls will be gone all day.  I can't believe our girl are growing up so fast and in school all day.  I hope they like their new teachers and make alot of new friends.

Exploring Falls Park in Sioux Falls

We have now been in Sioux Falls for a few day and with my Dad still in town we decided to check out one of the local Parks.  The kids were in heaven, climbing rocks chasing squirrels and checking out the waterfalls.  It's a beautiful park.  Parts of it reminded us of Montana, like the waterfalls and squirrels.  We still have a lot to explore in this new city.

Most of the Trees have changed colors.  It's very beautiful here in the fall.

The girls had a blast playing in the water and throwing rocks.  I just wish it wasn't so windy.  We always move to the windy cities.

The wind was blowing so hard that Ryan had to hold down my hair.  It was kind of funny.

Hanging out with Grandpa.  We were able to show my dad a few places around town before he flew back home to Utah.  Yep Ryan is trying to hold my hair down again.

This is a view of Falls Park from the tower at the park.  Its pretty cool once you get on top, because you can see a lot of the city surrounding the park.
