Another Snow Day!

It had been snowing all day, so I decided to take the girls outside to play while I shoved the walk. I love it how they can find fun in the simplest things. I lucked out and by the time I had the walks all shoved Ryan came home from work and finished the driveway. We then played with the girls until we had had enough of the cold. The snow didn't stay long. The temperature was in the below 0 for a few days and then up into the 40's so it has all melted now. We just enjoy it while we can.

Now it's McKenzie's turn.

Brooklyn was trying to shake all the leaves that were still on the tree.
McKenzie loves to tease Lucky. She would feel her hands with snow and then when he would get close to her she would throw it in his face. He must have liked it because he kept coming back for more.

Feeding the Ducks and Geese

After spending New Year's Day inside all day we decided to get out and take the kids to the park. When we got to the park we noticed all the ducks and geese everywhere, so the kids thought it would be fun to see them. As we were walking around an Elderly gentleman came over and gave Ryan a bag of bread and a handful of peanuts. The kids had so much fun. In Utah when we would go feed the ducks they were for the most part behind a fence, but not up here they were everywhere and so were the geese and squirrels. It was pretty cool seeing them surrounded by the birds.

The girls checking things out.

Brooklyn was so brave. She would get big pieces of bread and hand them right to geese.

Daddy showing the girls that the geese were nice.

The squirrels are very friendly up hear especially if you have peanuts. If you are really still they will come up and take the peanut right out of your hand.

New Year's Eve with the Friends

For New Year's Eve this year we spent the evening with our friends the Pfile's. We got a babysitter to watch all the kids while the parents went out to a much needed dinner date. We had so much fun. We went to one of the local steak called The Break. We enjoyed ourselves so much that after 3 hours at dinner we decided we better head home and check on the kids. After we got back to the house we only had an 1 1/2 hours left before it was midnight, so we decided to play the Wii to kill the time. The kids all got in their PJ's and had some treats and ran round being silly. Poor Carson was the only boy, so he hung out with the parent. At midnight the kids were so excited to do the fireworks. It was kind of fun this year because we were able to do some fun fireworks (yes the illegal ones in Utah). We can't wait until the 4th of July. The kids had a blast and crashed the minute they hit the pillow.

A crazy start for 2010!

Yes I'm finally getting to my Christmas Posts and still have New Year's and a few other posts to go. Sense Christmas things have been a little crazy. The week after Christmas our really good friends were packing to move to Utah. They have a two year old and a three week old baby. I watched the kids for three days that week so Becky and Weston could work on pack up their house. We are very sad that they are gone, but we will only be about 45 minutes away from each other when we move back to Utah. The Sunday after New Years my friend Ashley's water broke while at church, so Ryan and I took the kids home with us and had them until later the next day. Ashley was 3 1/2 weeks early, so they had no family here to take care of the kids. We were glad to take them and the girls love that they had a sleepover with their friends. I was exhausted and glad to have just my two little girls after these two weeks. Later that week both girls got sick with a head cold, so more sleepless nights were ahead. We are finally getting back to normal this week. I'm hoping to get New Year's and a few more posts finished in the next few days. Life is such and adventure, there is always something going on to keep us going.

Christmas Day!

Christmas morning was so fun this year. The girls were so excited they could hardly stand it. From December 1st until Christmas they would wake up every morning at 6:30 am so they could open their count down and put an ornament on the tree. They didn't let us down and woke up at 6:30 am Christmas morning ready to see what Santa had brought them. We had tons of fun watching the girls rip into all their presents. McKenzie just kept saying "This is the best Christmas ever." After presents we had a yummy Christmas Breakfast. I made fresh blueberry muffins and we had vanilla yogurt with fresh raspberries, bananas, and kiwi's. After Breakfast we opened all the presents from my family and made a phone call to my parents to see how their Christmas morning was going. We gave my brothers marshmallow shooters , so they were already at war with each other. I wish we could have been their to see them. A few hours later we set up the web cam so that Ryan's family could watch the girls unwrap their presents and so we could watch them unwrap what we had sent to them. We had tons of fun talking with the families. This year was great staying in and just spending time together as a family. It was a little different not to go to our families and I will admit that I did cry when I talked to my dad, but all in all we had a great day. Thanks to everyone who made it a great day.
I think Santa finally came.
The girls wasted no time digging into their stockings.
Lucky always does a good job ripping into his presents.
And their off!
I love this picture. McKenzie has wanted a camera forever and to see that Brooklyn got one brought a little stress to her face. She soon found the same shaped present and was excited to get her own camera.
Brooklyn digging into her present.
Both girls got a Littlest Petshop House. They were both very happy.

Do you think McKenzie is excited that she got some barbies.
The girls thought it was so silly that Santa wrapped their doll house with daddy's blanket.
They were so excited about their new doll house. They played with it all day.
Ryan got a new fishing reel and rod for Christmas along with a few other goodies.
Ryan was very excited about his new Sage rod.
The girls got me some new CD's Darius Rucker and Lady Antebellum.
Ryan also got me a digital picture fame, some workout clothes, slippers, a scarf and beanie and a little gold box. The girls were very curious as to what was in this little present.
"What's inside mom, what's inside."
Ryan spoiled me this year and gave me this beautiful ring. I have wanted for along time, so I was very excited.
For our family game this year we got a Wii and the new Wii fit plus and Mario Cart.
Brooklyn very excited with what she got.
McKenzie showing us the goods.
The girls didn't waist any time making their Barbie's at home in their new doll house.
The end result!
I think this picture tells it all. We all had a great Christmas day.

Christmas Eve!

Christmas Eve was a nice relaxing day. Ryan had the day off so after lunch we decided to take the girls and go look for a Christmas Puzzle. We thought this would be a fun new tradition. We spent the afternoon putting it together as a family. It took 3 hours and the girls stayed at the table with us the whole time. After the finishing the puzzle and having dinner it was time to frost cookies for Santa. The girls were so excited that it was almost time for Santa to come. After cookies we let the girls open one present that we had for them. The were so excited for their new Christmas PJ's. They both looked so cute in their new PJ's. We then watched Polar Express until the girls feel asleep. Ryan and I started It's a Wonderful Life ( Ryan's favorite Christmas movie) and worked on setting out all the presents. This is my favorite time of the night. Then I was off for bed and Ryan stayed up until the movie ended.

Friend Christmas Party!

We thought it would be fun to invite some friend over this year and have a Christmas party. Being away from family this year we really wanted to continue some of our traditions and share them with friends. The girls were so excited, but by mid day they were both complaining of a stomach ache. Two of our friends kids had been throwing up the day before, but were feeling better so we decided to go on with the party. The kids had all been together all week, Brooklyn decided to welcome them all by throwing up in the hall. I have never seen so much come out of such a little person like Boo. She felt better after that and wanted to play. We told everyone at the door, but they didn't care and the party went on. Everyone had a blast. We had great food and great company. We introduced the Right/Left game and everyone loved it. After the game was over McKenzie said she didn't feel good and also throw up. By the end of the night I ended up just sticking them in their PJ's and in bed with a movie. What a party. I ended up getting sick that night and all day Sunday and by mid week Ryan was also throwing up. I'm just glad that we had it all out of our systems by Christmas.

This is Everyone getting ready for the Right/Left Game. I didn't get very many pictures because I was in and out of the bathroom with Brooklyn.
